Idea to Object: A Laser Cutting Experience
Turn your ideas into reality with our full-day, hands-on laser cutting workshop at Maidstone Hackspace. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, this small-group course will give you the skills and confidence to design, cut, and assemble your own custom project – and take it home the same day.
What You’ll Learn and Do
- Introduction & Demonstration (1 hr): Explore the tools, materials, and software used in laser cutting.
- Design Your Project (up to 3 hrs): With expert guidance, develop your own design using our professional laptops and software.
- Cut, Decorate & Assemble (2 hrs): Bring your project to life on our laser cutters and add finishing touches.
- Future Skills (40 mins): Learn how to apply your new skills to future projects.

- Laser-engraved lino art and layered 3D sculptures
