ICS 400: Advanced Incident Command System for Command and General Staff – Complex Incidents
This course provides advanced training in the Incident Command System (ICS), focusing on the complex incident management principles required for major and/or multi-agency incidents. Designed for personnel who are expected to perform in a management capacity in an Area Command or Multi-Agency Coordination (MAC) Group, ICS 400 builds on ICS 100, 200, and 300 by introducing advanced topics such as unified command, area command, and the planning, operational, and logistical considerations in complex incidents.

Students must have an IEMA Training accounty log-in. All students must upload their FEMA pre-requisite courses to the IEMA training portal in order to recieved a certificate of completion.

Required Prerequisite Courses:

  • IS-100.c An Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100
  • IS-200.c Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, ICS 200
  • IS-700.b An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
  • IS-800.d: National Response Framework (NRF)
  • E/L/G 300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents, ICS 300
