About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Please join the ICAA for an important outdoor sketching event in the South Park Blocks to study A.E. Doyle's Montgomery Hall (previously the Martha Washington building) and Elmer Feig's Blackstone Hall, two current PSU residence halls that are slated for demolition in the upcoming year. We will have a brief discussion of the architects, their buildings, and celebrate their contribution to the early architectural character of Portland.

All skill levels welcome. Please bring your favorite sketching materials - pencil, charcoal, watercolors, and paper - and expect to spend 60-90 minutes sketching and discussing sketches and sharing drawing tips with others afterwards.

Don't miss a chance to study these historic buildings.
