Presented by Host Publications, I Scream Social is a monthly feminist reading series and ice cream party that takes place at Alienated Majesty Books. We aim to celebrate and empower historically marginalized writers and share incredible literature and diverse perspectives to an Austin-area audience. Zen Ren's prose and poetry has been published in New England Review, Electric Lit, and others. They were a PEN America Emerging Voices Fellow and winner of Nimrod's New Writer Award. Aside from writing their first speculative fiction novel, they are knitting, powerlifting, and making new friends in Austin's writing community.
Cameron Moreno (he/him) | @cameronjmoreno on IG & X | loves oreo ice cream
Cameron Moreno, a writer of fiction and poetry, holds an MFA from Western Kentucky University. A Pushcart Prize-nominee, his work is featured or forthcoming in Passages North, Fourteen Hills, storySouth, and elsewhere. He lives in Austin but is writing a collection of short stories about his home town, Corpus Christi, TX.
Stephanie Macias (she/her) | @stephaniemaciasgibson on IG| loves cake batter or cheesecake ice cream
Stephanie Macias is a Latinx writer, artist, and musician. She received an MFA in fiction from the New Writers Project at UT Austin and is the managing editor at American Short Fiction.
