ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

This exhibit showcases the work of artist and writer Txhee Belinda Xiong, alongside pieces from the 2024 anthology she curated. Through drawings created over the course of her healing journey from sexual assault, Xiong reflects on art as a tool for processing, understanding, and reclaiming selfhood. By centering the voices of survivors within Hmong and Asian communities and particularly Hmong women, the exhibit challenges the silence that often surrounds gender-based violence. In doing so, it creates space for these stories to be seen, heard, and honored.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Txhee Belinda Xiong is a Hmong-American filmmaker, writer, and community advocate based in the Twin Cities. She earned her B.A. in English, Creative Writing, with a minor in Women in the Arts from St. Catherine University. Her work centers Hmong, Asian, and BIPOC voices, exploring mental health, generational trauma, and feminist narratives.

She is a 2025 StorySeeds Fellow through Mamá Papaya and will be presenting her short film script Chinese Vampire in the Fall. Txhee is a member of the APIA MN Film Collective and has worked on multiple independent film sets. In addition to filmmaking, she has also self-published an anthology, I Believe You: An Asian American Women’s Anthology About Gender-Based Violence and runs the “#kuvthiab #metoo” project, using proceeds to curate care packages for survivors.
