• James Carlyle, Chief Engineer, MD at R3 CEV
James has a detailed knowledge of financial services, gained through the implementation of architecture and design of large and complex projects. His focus has been on application architectures associated with core banking, operations, servicing, channels and integration domains. James has 25 years of in-depth IT experience as a software engineer, data architect, entrepreneur, innovator and designer.
James joined R3 to help define an architecture for interbank shared ledgers and smart contracts, and to lead the engineering team to build prototypes and a reference implementation. James is also involved in setting up a shared collaboration lab, which banks can use to perform experiments using new blockchain technologies by interacting with each other.

Mike is currently Lead engineer at R3 CEV working on the Corda platform.

• John McLean, VP Global Blockchain Labs Engagement & Federal Europe Cloud at IBM
John is a software development executive of 30 years industry experience, having a proven track record of project delivery and execution, with leadership knowledge of large technology organisations, technology trends and innovation agendas.
At IBM, John is responsible for Client Engagement for Blockchain worldwide, explaining IBM strategy and POV, engagement with customer to help clients define use cases and solutions across all industries with the blockchain technology.
• Anthony O'Dowd, Solution Architect, Blockchain Technologies at IBM
Anthony is working in IBM's Worldwide Blockchain Labs helping clients with solution architecture and application design for decentralised ledger systems. He has hands on design experience with Linux Foundation Open Ledger project and other open source blockchain technologies.
• Barry Childe, Head of Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology at HSBC
Barry is a Technology Scientist / Blockchain & HPC specialist, Specialist in Financial Services IT and Distributed Computing, Member of Thomson Reuters, Microsoft customer advisory boards.
His specialties include: Blockchain and DLT, Cloud, BigData, HPC, Co-Lo, E-Trading, Finance, exotics, flow, trading, market data, grid, datagrid, database, management, web, ecommerce, stp, Market Data
• James Burton, Blockchain engineer at HSBC
Jim works in HSBC in the Applied Innovation department of HSBC working on distributed ledger technology.
He co-developed the Bitcoin wallets MultiBit and MultiBit HD.
For the previous fifteen years he has worked using Java on cryptocurrency and in financial software houses including Banctec and Infor.
• Gary Rowe, Blockchain engineer at HSBC
Gary Rowe has been a full time software developer for many years and is a Java web application specialist. He has worked for a diverse range of clients from banks to airlines to government. He is the co-developer of MultiBit and MultiBit HD and has contributed to many open source Bitcoin projects including Bitcoinj, XChange and Multibit Hardware. He is now working as a Blockchain Engineer for HSBC as part of their Applied Innovation research facility in London.
• Sofus Mortensen, Chief Quantitative Analyst in Model Development at Nordea Markets
Sofus currently works at Nordea Markets, the international markets operation of Nordea - the leading bank in the Nordic and Baltic regions.
Sofus has a "day job" working on FX models for risk and pricing, and a "night job" working on Blockchain/Distributed Ledger Technology representing Nordea in the Distributed Ledger Group. Sofus is also an active developer on R3 Corda.
• Mark Simpson, Distinguished Engineer at Royal Bank of Scotland
Mark ‘Bart’ Simpson currently works in the Innovation Engineering team at RBS. He has over 20 years of development experience in both retail and wholesale banking and has designed and built portfolio trading, algorithmic trading, trade processing and reference data systems. He has also worked on risk, cash management, clearing and data distribution systems in RBS.
Mark has been working with block chain technologies since the beginning of 2016 and using them to build prototypes for use cases across the bank.
He has worked on IBM Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum and Corda from the R3 group.
