Hunter Island Whisky tasting with Founder Damian Mackey

Damian has been making whisky in Tasmania for twenty years. Inspired by Ireland’s great distilling tradition, he created Tasmania’s original triple-distilled single malt, Mackey Whisky. His current passion, Hunter Island, reimagines Ireland’s signature pot still style through a Tasmanian lens.

Hunter Island Tasmanian Pot Still Whisky is crafted from a mixed mash bill of malted and unmalted barley and oats, triple distilled, and matured in fine oak casks, a thoughtful balance of heritage and innovation.

On the night, Damian will present five Hunter Island expressions and one poitín, sharing the stories, craft, and character behind each dram. It’s the first time we’ve hosted the founder himself at Antique , and an evening not to be missed for anyone who appreciates whisky made with heart, skill, and a sense of place.
