Upon completion, you will have the skill and knowledge to rig and sail a small boat on your own and will receive the Community Sailing Program Small Boat certification.

    Prerequisites:

    • Sailing is a physical sport. Your training will include being seated on a one-foot high bench seat, moving from one side of the boat to the other, righting a capsized boat and climbing into the boats from the water. For your own safety, we require the following as a minimum for your ability to participate. You should be able to complete 5 standing squats, 2 knee push-ups, and swim 100 feet while wearing a PFD(lifejacket). If you have any orthopedic issues, epsecially with your knees, or other health problems, please contact us before registering.
    • You will need to bring your own Personal Flotation Device, also known as a Life Jacket. We recommend a coast guard Type III PFD.
