Humanitarian Hub Enablement Program Launch Event (In-Person & Online)

By The HADR Institute

Overview

Hear frontline voices from Myanmar. Join us Nov 10 in Brisbane as HADRI launches a program empowering local aid where it’s needed most.

Join us on 10 November 2025 for the launch of the Humanitarian Hub Enablement Program, hosted by the Humanitarian Disaster Relief Institute (HADRI). This special evening will highlight the urgent humanitarian needs in Myanmar and showcase how locally led solutions are transforming aid delivery where it’s needed most.

Since the military coup in 2021, Myanmar has faced protracted crises that are often overlooked by the international community. Nearly 20 million people need humanitarian assistance, with 3.5 million displaced by conflict, and a devastating earthquake in March 2025 impacting over 6 million more. Yet, international funding remains critically low, only 12% of the 2025 international Humanitarian Response Plan has been met.

Despite these challenges, local civil society and diaspora-led organisations continue to deliver life-saving aid in areas international actors cannot reach. HADRI’s new program will establish humanitarian hubs along the Thai–Myanmar and India–Myanmar borders, strengthening and connecting these trusted local partners to deliver clean water, healthcare, education, protection for women and children, and emergency logistics.

At this event, civil society leaders from Myanmar will join us in Brisbane to share their stories directly, a rare chance to hear firsthand accounts from those on the frontlines of the crisis. They will outline the challenges they face and their vision for how humanitarian hubs can transform aid delivery in the region.
