About this event

  • Event lasts 7 hours

What would it mean to reimagine sports through the lens of a solidarity economy?

This summer gathering invites participants to consider the political, economic, and cultural dimensions of athletics, physical labor, and collective wellness.

From questions of ownership and governance to the role of working-class and BIPOC communities in sustaining the sports industry, our Worcester Field Day explores how cooperative models can reshape our relationship to movement, competition, and public life.

Kickball Tournament - 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Ages: 10+

Come play Kickball with us in Worcester! The goal is to score points by having players on the kicking team successfully round all bases and reach home plate without getting "out," while the fielding team attempts to prevent them from doing so. First come, first serve.

Basketball Games - 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

You got game? We are game for whatever. A pick up game, 3-on-3 half-court, 21, HORSE or Knockout are all on the menu of options.

Bring ya game, good sneakers and lets have fun!

KOREFI Field Day Flow - 1:00PM - 2:30PM

Bodyweight Circuit Workout + Stillness + Reflection with KOREFI

Mindful Movement Walk with We Outside - 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Slow-paced loop around Oread Castle Park and the surrounding neighborhood (a ~1 mile loop).

Community Fundee Tabling and Community Decision Making - 2:30 PM - 6:00PM

We will collectively engage in a democratic process to think about how to distribute the Huddle funds. To nominate a Worcester organization for the Huddle Fund, please do so here and to donate to the fund, you can do so directly on this eventbrite or here!

Cookout - 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM

We’re licensed to grill, so come through on July 19 for a Community Cookout! We will have veggie and beef burgers, roasted corn, refreshing beverages and much more.

Donations

By donating today, you are supporting the Summer Assembly Huddle Fund. The Huddle Fund is a collective fundraising effort to fund Worcester-based community organizations focused on health, sports and fitness. On July 19, 2025 we will vote to determine which nominated organizations get a share of the collective fund.
