What do I need to participate?

You will need a laptop with 16GB of RAM or higher, admininstrative rights, and a great attitude to participate.  No previous experience in information technology or cybersecurity required.

What time should I arrive?

We start promptly at 10am.  Arrive 15 minutes prior to set up.

This event is designed for beginners, career changers, students, and current cybersecurity professionals who want more hands-on experience with real-world tasks.

Do I need any prior experience in cybersecurity?

No. While some familiarity with basic IT concepts helps, we welcome all skill levels. The activities will be guided and designed to meet you where you are.

Will this event help me pass a certification exam?

Yes. The experience will support you in preparing for Security+ and similar certifications by applying the knowledge in real tasks. This is not a test-prep bootcamp—but it fills the gap between theory and practice.

What do I need to bring?

Bring your laptop (Windows, Mac, or Linux) and a power cord. You may also need to install free tools we’ll use during the event. A detailed setup checklist will be sent after you register.

Meals and lodging are not included. We will provide recommendations for nearby food options.
