Overview

Become an authorized HSI CPR and First Aid Instructor! This blended course teaches you to certify others in CPR, AED, & First Aid.

Become a certified HSI Instructor and start teaching high-quality CPR, AED, and First Aid courses in your community. This blended program combines HSI’s online Instructor Development training with an engaging, hands-on in-person session where you will demonstrate instructional skills, course facilitation, and practical proficiency.

Course Overview

The HSI Instructor Development Course prepares candidates to teach HSI CPR, AED, First Aid, and other approved programs. You will learn how to deliver course content effectively, evaluate student performance, manage skills practice sessions, and meet all HSI training standards.

This blended class includes two components:

  1. Online Portion – Must Be Completed Before Class
    After registration, you’ll receive free access to the HSI online Instructor Development training.
    This online portion is required and must be fully completed before attending the in-person session.
    Proof of completion will be required at check-in.
  2. In-Person Skills Session
    During the in-person portion, candidates will practice teaching segments, demonstrate skills competency, and complete the final evaluations required for certification.

Certification Requirements

To successfully complete this course, participants must:

  • Finish the HSI online Instructor Development module before class
  • Attend the full in-person session
  • Demonstrate required skills and instructional competencies
  • Complete all HSI instructor-level evaluations

After Certification – How You Can Teach

Upon successful completion, new instructors must align with an authorized HSI Training Center or form their own HSI Training Center in order to teach and issue certification cards. We will provide guidance and resources to help you get aligned quickly so you can begin teaching right away.
