But what does it truly mean to serve non-monogamous people in a monogamous culture? In this discussion, we will examine how monogamy has informed our definitions of relationships, sexuality, and health.

Join Clinical Psychotherapist Lauren Moore for this important workshop where we consider what it would look like to shift our relationship concepts to be more inclusive and meet the increased need for non-monogamous-aware health services.

After our time together, attendees will walk away with new language to engage with more clients as well as tools for self examination as to what it means to be in a healthy romantic relationship.

About the presenter:

Lauren Moore, MA, MEd (they/them) currently works as a Psychotherapist in a Northern Virginia private practice focusing on kinky, non-monogamous, and LGBT2QIA couples and individuals.

Previously, Lauren worked in a health and education-focused sex shop, teaching rope classes, designing floggers, collars, dildos, and more; needless to stay, they’ve got stories.

Lauren blends emotion-focused therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy heavily seasoned with feminist therapy to their practice. When not getting on a soapbox about the ills of shame and being pushy about self compassion, Lauren knits and rewatches shows to a degree that many people question. Lauren brings over a decade of research, experience, therapy, and education in the BDSM community to their therapeutic practices and teachings as well as a healthy dose of humor … at least, they think it’s healthy.
