Dear GREET LAFAYETTE readers: If you'd like to learn more about what you can do in your home to be part of the solution to the climate crisis, please join us Saturday, September 13. We'll focus on "Building Decarbonization" and the benefits of phasing out natural gas and moving to all-electric homes. It sounded really far fetched when we did this in 2019, but the more we attended how-to workshops , the more we learned how feasible and beneficial it was.

If you're interested in learning more, we'll share what we learned as we went through the process of removing all fossil-fuel burning appliances (e.g. our gas furnace, gas hot water heater, gas cooktop and gas fireplace), in a move to run our home completely on electricity powered by renewable energy. Learn about heat pumps, induction cooking and electric fireplaces.

Is it difficult, or expensive, or time consuming to "electrify everything" in the home? Come see and learn for yourself. The home also features15 solar panels and a Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV with 300+ miles of range.

We will talk about what Federal and State tax credits are still available for heat pumps and solar. The recent One Big Beautiful Bill has set early-termination of these credits 12/31/2025 so it's important to act very soon.
