In this webinar, attendees will learn about the Convergence Accelerator’s ideation opportunity, its program model and fundamentals, designed to transition basic research and discovery into practice. The NSF will explain how the Convergence Accelerator’s ideation process is your opportunity to think big to address current and future national and societal challenges. This enables participants to shape their topic ideas around the NSF’s criteria and will help guide their experience in the ideation phase of the program.
The NSF encourages researchers and innovators from academia, industry, nonprofit, government, and other communities of practice to attend this webinar and submit ideas for consideration.

National-scale societal challenges cannot be solved in a single discipline, instead these challenges require convergence to merge ideas, approaches, and technologies from a wide range of diverse sectors, disciplines, and experts. Launched in 2019, the NSF Convergence Accelerator is building upon basic research and discovery to accelerate solutions toward societal impact. Using convergence research fundamentals and integration of innovation processes like human-centered design, user discovery, and team science; and integration of multidisciplinary research and partnerships the Convergence Accelerator program is investing in research teams comprised of academia, industry, non-profits, government, and others to solve large-scale societal challenges.
