Join our intermediate class to learn designer level bodice lining and create a clean polished finish for stronger garment construction.
This intermediate level workshop focuses on high couture lining techniques for a professional bodice finish. Students will work with pre graded patterns and learn practical methods to achieve crisp necklines, neat armholes, and an overall couture quality inside finish. The session is hands on and designed for sewists with basic experience who want to refine their finishing techniques and produce garments that look as good inside as they do out.
What you will learn
- Clean bodice lining techniques
- Professional neckline and armhole finishing using the burrito method
- Understitching and adding correct lining ease
- Pressing and construction basics for a couture finish
What to bring
- 1 yard outer woven fabric (cotton, Ankara, brocade, satin, etc.)
- 1 yard lightweight lining fabric (cotton, polyester lining, pongee)
- Thread and basic sewing tools (scissors, pins/clips, seam ripper, fabric marker, measuring tape, etc.)
- Sewing machine
