How to Make a Kissing Ball
Overview
Kissing balls were first used as “holy boughs” in medieval times and would be hung from the ceiling along passageways in castles and big houses to render blessings and good luck to all who passed under. Back then, the center would contain a figure of baby Jesus. This class will teach you how to make your own kissing ball to decorate your holiday home and bring good luck to you and all who pass near.
During this class you will be using evergreen tips to make your kissing ball as well as some pinecones and red berries for decoration. If you have a favorite pair of gloves and pruners, please bring them along, your hands can get some pitch on them. We will have gloves and pruners available if you don’t have them yourself.
Please join us on Saturday November 29, 2025 from 1:00 – 2:30 PM at Guini Ridge Farm in Rockport. The cost is $45 per person.
