How to Kill a Mouse: The debut comedy show from a scientist reconciling her personal life with her professional one. Alex Berr spent her adolescence studying a rare form of brain cancer; years later her mom was diagnosed with the same form of rare cancer. Reflecting on a life dedicated to science, Alex uses humor to process her mom’s death, while hoping for moral absolution for all the mouse casualties along the way. A deeply personal, funny, and at times absurd look at grief and the human side of science.
Alex Berr is a comedian based in Virginia. While earning her PhD in Biomedical Engineering in Chicago, she started performing comedy and founded the sell-out science-comedy show, Uncontrolled Variables. She recently moved back to the US from London, where she was nominated for the 2023 Funny Women Award and the 2024 BBC New Comedy Awards.
“Berr’s natural charm is a bright way to start any day, despite her dark subject matter”
