9.30 Using Employee Data to Transform Workplace Wellbeing

Keynote Speaker: Grace Smith (Workforce Wellness)

This session shows HR leaders, wellbeing leads and organisations how to use employee data to design wellbeing programmes that genuinely improve health, culture and performance, delivered by the industry leader in using data to drive transformational wellbeing change across organisations.

Whether an organisation already has employee data, has only completed basic engagement surveys, or has never run a wellbeing survey before, attendees will learn how to gather meaningful insight, collect the right data intentionally, benchmark it confidently and turn clear priorities into wellbeing programmes that create real behaviour change.

The focus is practical, evidence-based and action-driven: using data to build wellbeing programmes that actually work.

Session Highlights:

  • How to collect meaningful employee data, if you currently have none
  • How to interpret employee insight to understand real needs and pain points
  • How to benchmark your data against national and sector standards
  • How to identify the 3 - 5 wellbeing priorities that matter most
  • How to build targeted, high-impact wellbeing programmes from those priorities
  • How to structure a simple 12-month roadmap that turns data into measurable action

Actionable Takeaways:

A clear method for collecting and understanding employee data, a framework for identifying true wellbeing priorities and a practical approach to building targeted, evidence-led wellbeing programmes. You’ll leave with the confidence and tools to create a 12-month wellbeing plan that is strategic, employee-centred and designed to make a measurable difference across your organisation.

11.30 You Are More Than Your Concerns!

Keynote Speaker: Sam Barr (Hope Mental Wellbeing)

Mental Wellbeing (Anxiety, Negative Self-talk, Low Mood) is an experience, not your identity.

The danger is that we will become what we predominantly think about, especially if we keep thinking about the things we don’t want or need to think about!

Scientific Insight:

Positive Psychology Principle - The concept of self as more than symptoms aligns with strengths-based psychology.

Research - Shows that as we label ourselves as 'anxious' it increases the self-fulfilling outcome of that particular state.

Cognitive Reframing - Allows us to see anxiety as a signal, not a sentence.

'The Storm and the Sky' Analogy:

Anxiety is like a storm, it is intense, disruptive, and sometimes scary. But you are not the storm; you are the sky that holds it. The sky is vast, open, and unbreakable.

Practical Tool:

Name it to tame it. Instead of saying “I am anxious,” say “I’m noticing some feelings of anxiety.”

This subtle change creates psychological distance and gives you more power.

Takeaway Affirmation:

I am not my anxiety. I am the observer. I am resilient. I am whole.

2.00 Beyond Policies: Creating Trauma-Responsive Workplaces That Work

Keynote Speaker: Vivian McKinnon (EPIONE)

Trauma is no longer just a clinical term - it’s a workplace reality. Unresolved stress, overwhelm, and dysregulation quietly erode staff culture, increase absence, and reduce productivity across every sector. Behaviours often labelled as 'performance issues' are frequently nervous system responses, not personal failings. When organisations don’t recognise this, the cost is high: burnout, conflict, disengagement, and turnover.

Vivian McKinnon, Trauma Therapist and Ireland Associate for EPIONE Training and Consultancy, presents an empowering session on how trauma shows up in teams and how organisations can respond with compassion, clarity, and effectiveness. This talk introduces EPIONE’s evidence-based trauma-informed framework, offering leaders a practical pathway to build safer, healthier, and more resilient workplaces.

You’ll learn why trauma-informed practice is rapidly becoming a strategic priority for statutory, corporate, and community organisations — and how adopting it can transform culture, strengthen communication, reduce absence, and unlock staff performance.

This session is ideal for senior leaders, HR professionals, wellbeing leads, and heads of training who want to invest in a workforce that feels valued, supported, and capable of thriving.

What attendees said about our last event:

I found the day to be excellent. The mix of exhibitors, seminars and networking worked really well. The speakers were engaging, informative and timed well.

M.B.

I really enjoyed the event. The main speaker talks were great and very informative. I took a lot away from their presentations. There was a good variety of exhibitors, the venue was a great location, well laid out and very clean. The hotel staff were great and the catering was good. The M&S spot prizes were a great idea and very well received by all.

E.M.

I found the event brilliant and most interesting. We were able to take a lot from it that can help us start to implement a better wellbeing set up at our workplace.

I felt the set up was great and I enjoyed the talks, the break off talks and the exhibition, and the way it was programmed was fantastic as it meant you could pick and choose what was relevant to you.

The venue was great, food great.

A.P.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day. There was a good range of topics covered and I made some new contacts which I feel will be beneficial within our workplace.

L.P.

A very well run event with a great selection of brands displaying their products.

Thank you and I hope to attend more like this again

D.F.
