Description

How to Get the Best Count for Your Community

The Department of Libraries is bringing in a federal Census official to conduct a short workshop for Oklahoma's public libraries, tribal libraries, and adult literacy councils. Libraries and literacy councils will play a key role as staff work to guide people in participating in the Census. This workshop will help prepare you to assist your communities in achieving a fair, accurate, and inclusive count.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to identify undercounted populations in their service area, develop programs to reach those populations, and answer questions from the public about participating in the census count.

Note: Your library or literacy council may attend whether or not you are applying for an ODL Census Grant.

The workshop is FREE. For persons coming from more than 60 miles outside OKC, travel cost reimbursements will be available on a "first reserved, first served" basis until funds are depleted.

Attendees will receive 0.24 CEU credits.

Contact ODL Government Information Librarian Susan Woitte if you have questions or need more information.

You do not need to print tickets to attend. We will have the list of names for those who registered.

This event is supported by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
