This workshop will explore prop use as dynamic tools that can:

• Add simple creativity to your sequences
• Modify or up-level your students’ challenge in each class
• Create cross-body muscular connections
• Serve as feedback tools to deepen your students’ alignment during class
• Enhance stretching and therapeutic opportunities at the end of class

Throughout our discussion we will break down anatomical and biomechanical concepts relevant to each prop used as well as and correlate how the props can serve as a replacement for hands-on teaching feedback during virtual classes. A 50 minute movement experience will follow our discussion integrating all discussed props.

*while having the following props on hand for the workshop is not required, it will help with your felt-sense understanding of their use: 8 inch pilates ball, yoga block, yoga strap or scarf, mini band

About Lindsey Long

Lindsey graduated from the University of Tulsa with degrees in both psychology and communication and has more than 4,000 combined hours of movement education spanning classical comprehensive pilates, barre, vinyasa yoga, yoga sculpt, and HIIT. Lindsey is also a barre, yoga, and anatomy teacher trainer, owner of Move Brave, a virtual fitness and training platform, and a clinical exercise physiologist specializing in limitation modifications, injury prevention, and pre and post-natal movement. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Human Nutrition, Dietetics and Functional Medicine.
