HouseWork return to rock the Splash in August with an all day event for old school house music lovers on the island. Returning will be Jersey born Darren Martin together with an incredible headline DJ in Tall Paul. A host of local DJs will be getting the terrace party bouncing all day long before the main event ensuring this is the party of the summer not to be missed.

TALL PAUL

Tall Paul, began his DJ'ing career in the late 80’s playing for private parties at his family’s venue Turnmills. At the same time, Paul started DJing on pirate radio stations, Touchdown FM and the capital's legendary pirate Sunrise FM. Paul used his skill and experience to get a slot at Turnmills' Saturday all-nighter Trade and in 1991. His sound and talent gained him his first residency at Trade with the infamous 9am closing spot. Paul quickly became recognised for his technique and sound, creating an electric atmosphere. Not long after his residency at Trade, Paul was offered a residency at the Zap Club in Brighton. Back in London he met up with Shelley Boswell, which lead to regular slots at the Gardening Clubs’ Saturday get together, “Club For Life”.
In 1992, Paul put out his first vinyl offering - the white label 'Love Rush', which instantly became a Trade anthem. He then hooked up with Hooj Choon’s boss Red Jerry and created the dance classic ‘Rock Da House’, later to be re-released on VC Recordings - reaching No. 10 in the national charts (This dance classic is set for re-release later this year with a new mix from Rathbone Place). From the success of ‘Rok da House’, Paul then went on to produce numerous top 10 hits including the club anthems Escrima "Deeper" and "Train of Thought”; his highest entry to date & Camisra collection "Let Me Show You", entered new at No. 5. Last year saw the massive hit from Rathbone Place, ‘Be Free” a collaboration with his nephew John which became last years summer anthem.
All this lead to a series of remix projects for artists such as New Order, Stone Roses, Erasure, Human League, K Klass, Wild Child, , Energy 52, Push, Duran Duran, Nalin & Kane, Blondie, Bizarre Inc, more recently , Keane and The Killlers... the list goes on. Paul’s production talents where recognised in the “DJ Magazine Top Producers Poll.
Paul has continued his own production success with tracks on Capitol Records with the remake of Adams’s Killer, Solar Recordings -Burn Up EP, Voodoo Ray on Does-or-Die Records , ‘Help Me’ on Altra Moda and Welcome to the Party’, which came out on ‘Edible’, Eats Everything’s label.
Paul’s own label, Phree-D, sees his own productions and creations carry on from his vinyl label Dutyfree. His first Phree-D release was a collaboration with the amazing Luciana called ‘My House’, now onto his 5th release called ‘Is this a Dream’. Paul has sold over 2 million compilation albums including Virgin’s ‘The Gallery Modern Masters’, ‘Club Nation 1998’ and ‘Cream Anthems’ and Fantazia's ‘House Collection’.
Paul signed an album deal with the Ministry of Sound, with successful mixed compilations including "Dance Nation 6", "The Ibiza Annual series", “Millennium Annual”, “Dance Nation 7” , “Headliners”, “The Annual” and “The Clubber’s Guide to 2001” & “2003” being released. In the

U.S. the very popular ‘Mixed Live’ series. Followed by the ‘Gallery Live’ sessions, ‘Globetrotting Peru’ and ‘Live in Sofia’. Paul has gained many awards for his service to the industry, amongst them was the much coveted “Muzik” DJ of the year ,numerous “best remixer” “best producer” awards around the globe.
His popularity has seen him DJ world-wide travelling to the U.S, Canada, Japan, South America, Asia, India, Dubai, Ibiza, South Africa, most recently a tour in 2023 to Australia and New Zealand with the Ministry of Sound.







DARREN MARTIN

An old school House head through and through Jersey born DJ and promoter Darren Martin has been dominating the electronic scene in recent years with his electrifying sets that combine powerful beats and deep basslines. His ability to blend the best of classic house with the latest Tech House grooves ensures an unparallel atmosphere in all his sets. Darren has gained the attention of notable promoters in Spain where he is based including residencies with Kinky Malinki, WTHouse, RUSH, Centreforce Ibiza and SPACE. During 2024 Darren played alongside the likes of Alex P, Jon Pleased Wimmin, Jonathan Ulysses, Danny Rampling, Slipmatt, The Dolly Rockers, Jason Bye, Terry Farley, Rob Roar and Andy Galea. It is clear Darren has hit his sweet spot in a scene that is thriving.

Darren has become renowned in Southern Spain for long sets and putting on old school house parties under his brand HouseWork. HouseWork has grown to put on some of the best pool, club and boat parties in Marbella since 2020. By the end of 2023 Darren gained the attention of Es Paradis Ibiza asking Housework to host their closing party which Darren entitled ‘Dove Days’ creating a new old school club night that now hosts nights throughout the UK as well as Ibiza. 2024 HouseWork parties extended to Portugal, Gibraltar and Jersey together with a full summer residency for Centreforce at Space in Ibiza which has lead to a regular show with the station now the largest House Music radio station in Europe. With his own Headline resdiency at Space Ibiza throughout this summer and production plans in the pipeline there are no plans to slow down this House Head.
