House of Funk performing Funk of the 70’s featuring music by PFunk, EWF, Sly Stone, & more!
Born in early 2019, House of Funk began as a local showcase for the Charlotte, NC funk scene and has since grown into a powerhouse band that now sells out their bi-monthly residency at the heralded Middle C Jazz Club. House of Funk has expanded to playing shows across the east coast including major music festivals such as the 85,000+ attendee Lovin Life Music Festival, all while developing a deep repertoire of major funk hits and beloved B-sides. This repertoire spans generations and covers a multitude of artists, with the band hosting themed shows playing the music of legendary artists such as Prince, James Brown, Sly Stone, Al Green, Teena Marie, and many more in addition to the occasional generational shows, focusing on particular decades like the funk of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and beyond.
