About this event
The Elsewhere Ensemble (www.ElsewhereEnsemble.com)
“Words which sing, notes that speak.” The Elsewhere Ensemble has been based in Eugene, Oregon since 2018. Officially created in 2012, the group was previously based in New York City and Paris. Many of Elsewhere’s performances bring music together with stories, poetry and theater. Their works combine the old with the new – literature or stories from the past come to life through new music; or classical music repertoire is presented with new writing or in new ways. In Eugene, they have presented Chekhov Triptych – three Chekhov stories in concert, The Happy Prince (based on the Oscar Wilde tale), and Letter to Brahms, among other original works. In the past, the group has performed in New York, Paris, Montreal, Beirut, Lyon, Brussels, Boston, and Portland and have also participated in both the Edinburgh and New York International Fringe Festivals.

This is an outdoor event at the home of Andrea Halliday and Anice Thigpen, and we are asking that guests bring their own seating. Blankets are encouraged, as much of the yard is sloped. For those who prefer to sit in chairs, there will be some limited flat space available. Guests are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to enjoy during the performance. State and CDC safety guidelines will be followed. Directions and parking details will be sent via email closer to the date of the performance.
