Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future:The Arts & Sciences in Conversation

By The Phi Beta Kappa Society

Overview

Join the Phi Beta Kappa Society for a dynamic conversation and special program as we launch our 250th Anniversary celebration.

This special program will mark the launch of Phi Beta Kappa’s 250th Anniversary Celebration, featuring a dynamic panel conversation with:

  • Frederick M. Lawrence, Secretary and CEO, The Phi Beta Kappa Society
  • Katherine A. Rowe, President, William & Mary
  • Clifford B. Fleet III, President and CEO, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation

This discussion will bring together the voices of three visionary leaders to reflect on the enduring power of the arts and sciences in shaping society. Together, they will explore how historic institutions like Phi Beta Kappa, William & Mary, and Colonial Williamsburg continue to lead with purpose in a rapidly changing world—showcasing their shared commitment to advancing knowledge, civic engagement, and cultural understanding. This conversation will not only celebrate our legacy but also build momentum for Phi Beta Kappa’s 250th Anniversary, inspiring all who attend to carry forward the values of curiosity, integrity, and the love of learning that define our shared mission. A reception will follow.

We hope you will join us for this meaningful conversation and celebration of the liberal arts and sciences.

Please RSVP for the keynote program by December 1, 2025. Reception RSVPs are due by November 23, 2025, as space is limited.
