After your registration is complete you will receive an confirmation email from a CAP-HC HUD Housiing Counselor with the intake form. Once your intake has been completed the Microsoft Teams meeting invite along with further instructions on how to prepare for class will be sent to you via email.

Homestretch Workshops will help prepare you for homeownership

Not sure if you are ready? Need help to be ready? We can help you determine readiness or help you make a plan to get there. Homestretch Workshops explore the following topics:

  • Cost of renting versus the cost of owning
  • Loan qualifications
  • Is debt a factor?
  • Money needed for closing costs

  • Income or savings barriers
  • Mortgage application process
  • How to shop for a home
  • Home inspections
  • Documents involved in closing

COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP OF HENNEPIN COUNTY FEE POLICY

Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County is an Approved HUD Housing Counseling Agency and committed to providing high quality services to the community.

To support the cost of providing homeownership services, Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County will charge those attending the in person Homebuyer Education Workshop, $40.00 per household. Each household is limited to two adults.

Households with an income at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Level may request to have the fee waived based on their ability to pay. To have the fee waived, you must provide Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County proof of your household income and household size BEFORE registering for the workshop.

Third party payments are accepted unless there is a potential conflict of interest. Fees are non-refundable. Fees must be paid in advance or at the time services are provided.

This policy goes into effect January 1, 2024.
