Event Attire: Semi-Formal
Young Men are required to wear khaki or dress slacks with a polo or button-down shirt; t-shirts, jeans, or casual attire are not permitted. Young men may choose to wear a dress coat, suit jacket, dinner jacket, or tie, but these are not required.
Young Ladies should select a modest dress/skirt that reflects the evening’s dress code but still allows for movement and dancing. Pantsuits will not be permitted for this event. Skirts and dresses should be at least knee length. Long dresses with slits that are open above the knee will need to be sewn together to the appropriate length prior to the evening’s festivities. I strongly advise against strapless dresses or tops unless straps are added. Most young ladies at this age tend to run, dance, and move around a great deal, and it can be quite miserable for a young lady to constantly be having to pull up her dress all evening long, rather than just being able to relax and have a great time.
Our desire for the dress code of this event is to help teach, train, and educate our young people about the nature and expectations of a semi-formal event. We hope that, as they grow up and encounter events in their futures that require specific attire, they are prepared and equipped to handle each situation with grace and style. Parents, we want to come alongside you in your endeavor to educate your young people by guiding them and directing them during these early years. If you are unsure about any item your young person may be wanting to wear to this event, you are welcome to reach out to me or one of the other coordinators. We are all happy to help!!!
Parents are welcome to purchase an Adult Lounge ticket which will give attendees access to the upper area of The Barn. The Adult Lounge will be equipped with tables, chairs, and the most perfect view of the dance floor. Adults will be required to follow the same dress code (Semi-Formal) as attending students in order to maintain the integrity of the event. Only one Adult Ticket purchase per family, please. If there are additional adult tickets available, there will be an email sent out prior to the event to notify families who might be interested in purchasing additional adult tickets.
This event will be heavily chaperoned and monitored; students will be required to remain indoors during the duration of the event for safety purposes. We will have a door monitor and bathroom monitors, as well as a plethora of volunteers that will be walking about the entire evening to ensure that everyone stays safe and has a wonderful time. Please arrive early to take photos outdoors around the beautifully decorated property of The Barn; however, note that attendees will not be able to enter the venue until 5:00pm.
