What is this event?

This is a casual, community-hosted Sip and Shop gathering at the Ten Thousand Villages store in Pasadena. It is intended to bring people together for holiday shopping that benefits both a global nonprofit and our local schools.

Is this an official LCFEF event?

No. This event is hosted by community members Gillan Frame, Jill Chapman, and Ian Holloway. Ten Thousand Villages will make a donation to LCFEF based on in-store purchases made in support of the Foundation.

How does the give-back work?

From now through December 24th, Ten Thousand Villages Pasadena will donate 15% of in-store sales proceeds to LCFEF when the shopper mentions LCFEF at checkout.

Does the 15% give-back count toward my annual giving to LCFEF?

As an unofficial, community-hosted event, the contribution to LCFEF is generated by Ten Thousand Villages rather than individual donors. LCFEF cannot  track and attribute amounts to specific households.

What are the event hours?

On Tuesday, December 10 drop-in anytime between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. If you can't make the event, you can still shop in-store to benefit LCFEF through December 24th.

Do I need to RSVP?

An RSVP is appreciated to help the hosts plan for refreshments, but it is not required to attend.

Are food and drinks provided?

Wine and light refreshments will be offered during the Sip and Shop hours.

Yes. Parking is available throughout the South Lake Avenue shopping district.

Yes. Please feel free to invite friends and family who may enjoy shopping for fair-trade, ethically made gifts while supporting LCFEF. This is a community-driven gathering, and personal sharing is welcome.
