Holiday Shop-N-Stroll Reception

The Black Legacy Advancement Coalition will host its second annual Year End Holiday Celebration on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Shinola’s Flagship Canfield Store – in Midtown Detroit. Our event sponsor for this year’s event is Corewell Health. Detroiters and friends will celebrate an evening of hope, highlighting accomplishments that BLAC has made this year while looking forward to what’s next. Shinola is generously donating 20% of its proceeds on December 4th to the Black Legacy Advancement Coalition. Simply mention us at checkout, show your digital flier and count it to the cause!

This year’s holiday celebration is a free event. There will be live music by the Urban Violinist Kym Brady, light refreshments, merchandise for purchase and a presentation about our accomplishments and our vision for the future.

The proceeds from this year’s premier gathering will go to fund the Coalition’s Ground Up Initiative which supports affordable housing, mentorship and programming efforts for Detroit’s young adults.

Since 2020, BLAC has invested more than $600,000.00 dollars into Detroit neighborhoods, having established semi-independent men's and women's housing to combat homelessness; launched a nationally acclaimed wellness movement with its award-winning Health Is Wealth Detroit expo; instituted consistent mentoring programs for the holistic development of young adults; and built a 4,000+ person intergenerational movement. Day in and day out, BLAC provides tangible support to dozens of Detroiters – including youth and elders. Some of which are transitioning from foster care, homelessness, abuse, neglect, the criminal justice system and other challenging circumstances.
