Meet Your Instructor: Julia Ross
Bakery Chef Extraordinaire
Julia Ross has been baking since she was four years old, learning side-by-side with her mother and grandmother. Her love for artisan bread has grown throughout her life — from working at a bagel shop as a teenager to baking fresh bread almost daily for her family and community. For over 35 years, Julia has been the heart of countless gatherings, preparing homemade meals, fresh loaves, pastries, and pies that friends and neighbors often describe as “better than any bakery or restaurant.”
Beyond her warm home kitchen, Julia built and led Professional Tutoring, a multi-million-dollar education company founded right at her dining room table. Yet no matter how busy life became, she continued to bake, share, and nourish — offering meals to neighbors, churches, shelters, first responders, and guests around her table. Her cooking is defined by generosity, tradition, and deep joy.
Most recently, Julia returned from an immersive cooking retreat in Italy, where she refined new techniques and recipes. Now, she brings that inspiration to Laconiko — ready to share her love of artisan bread and the simple beauty of creating something delicious with your own hands.
