Holiday Craft Workshop: Make your own Polish Nativity Displays (Szopki)
Overview
Get into the holiday spirit with a workshop dedicated to the art of making traditional Polish Nativity displays, known in Polish as "Szopki". This tradition originated in Krakow, Poland in the 19th Century. Annually there is a competition where citizens of Krakow come to show off their creations. In 2018, the Szopka joined the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.
The workshop will be led again by our Board Secretary Cecilia and her Aunty Donna. This will be a variation of the workshop we offered last year with new designs and suggestions. This activity is perfect for families and kids of all ages and a great addition to your holiday decorations!
All tickets are $15 and includes a list of supplies, a template, and access to a recording of the live event to watch or re-watch at your own pace!
All proceeds go to support the programming of Eagle-Orzeł Educational and Cultural Exchange, Inc. for Summer 2026.
