Holiday Candle Making Class
Ever want to make your own candle? Now you can! Join us for an afternoon of making holiday themed candles featuring baking scents.
Greetings!
This is a beginner's candle-making class in the home of a candlemaker and artist in SW Detroit. All materials will be provided. We will focus on container candles in this class, and use scents featuring prominently in winter. I will have a couple other scents if you want to choose, or you can make an unscented candle.
1:30 - Class meet/greet
1:45 - Candle basics & history
2:00 - Candle making process begins
2:30-2:45 - Candle pours
2:45 - 3:45 - Candle curing and socialization
3:45 - Candle fixing (for inevitable sinkholes)
4:00 - Send you on your way! Thanks for coming!
Light refreshments will be provided.
Outcomes: 1 candle to take home, knowledge of candle history, knowledge of modern candle terms and conscious consumerism/production, social networking with creative community.
Note: Due to time and space, we are unable to accommodate extra candle pours for individuals. Candle maker will have additional candles for sale at discount for each class participant.
