HOCR '25 Practice Time Registration

2025 Practice Hours:

Friday October 17, 2025 - 10:30am - 6pm

N crews will be permitted to launch after 5pm.

IMPORTANT: These Practice Launch Windows are ONLY for anyone launching and landing from FALS (Finish and Launch Site). If you are not launching from FALS you do not need to register for a time.

To better manage traffic on and off docks we are asking that crews intending to practice register for one of the 30 minute Practice Launch Windows. For safety, we are restricting the final hour of practice to coxed boats only given the decreasing visibility in the late afternoon/early evening hours. Crews launching after 4pm are advised to bring lights

Please sign up for a time slot and we ask that you do your best to adhere to the assigned time.

P ractice Window FAQs

• What do I have to show to prove I signed up? Nothing this year. We just ask that you stick to the window to the best of your ability, but there's no proof required to launch.

• What if I forgot to sign up? There is no penalty, but we encourage all crews to sign up so our volunteers and staff can prepare for peak volume times accordingly

• We missed our launch window. What should we do? You will be permitted to launch at the dockmaster's discretion.

• We signed up but the line is really long and we won't be on the dock before our window closes; will we be able to practice? Yes. You will still be able to launch/practice

• It's 4:30 and the line is long and we won't be able to get to the dock before the end of the practice launching times; can we still practice? No. Docks close at 5; practice is not guaranteed and tends to be quite busy. As such, we recommend giving yourself as much time as possible to launch.
