What is the parking situation?

Blue Rocks asks that you park near the entrance to the campgrounds. From there you will be directed to walk for 3 mins up Blue Rocks Dr. to our first location near the bolder field (aka. The Shire)

Can we wear costumes?

Yes! It is HIGHLY encouraged. However, no real weaponry though. Only foam (Boffer) or equally soft weapon props as this is a family event.

What do you recommend we bring/prepare?

The hike will be a fairly easy, but it will be October and we are planning on a drizzle or shine ( we will cancelled if there is thunder/lightning) so sturdy shoes, a warm outer layer for when it gets more chilly, and a water bottle are all good ideas. Snacks and a light meal will be provided.

Is  The Hobbit (1977) age appropriate for my kid?

The Hobbit 1977 is a Rankin and Bass fill that was aimed at children 7+. Some have found it to have creepy animation style, especially during scenes with Gollum and Smaug. The violence portrayed is very cartoon-ized and not considered gore-y.
