"The Loon": Book Release and Shadowplay Join us for a multimedia experience featuring shadow puppet performances, a live book reading, as well as jazz and folk music performances.
All of the artists involved in the creation of Høly River's latest release "The Loon" will come together to celebrate the book and also share their own art and compositions. Featuring performances by jazz pianist Weldon Hill, Visual artist Valeska Populoh and Høly River. Høly River's new song book

About the Artists:
Weldon Hill
A musicologist, composer, and pianist, Weldon Hill is active as a performer, composer, and writer. Hill was one of the first artists welcomed to the shockoe records label and composed an instrumental piano version of Høly River's song "the Loon" to accompany the book.
Valeska Populoh
Valeska Maria Populoh works as an artist, educator and cultural organizer in her adopted hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. Embracing a wide array of tactics, from puppetry to participatory performance, Valeska's work is motivated by an interest in healing and repair, in our relationships to each other and to the natural world. Pupuloh is the illustrator of "The Loon" book and will be performing an original shadowplay "Groundswell Spell" featuring music composed by Marian McLaughlin.
Høly River
Høly River is a musical duo known for their ethereal soundscapes, and transcendent melodies. Rooted in themes of nature, spirituality, and human connection, their music weaves together elements of folk, world, and ambient genres. The duo's performances create an immersive experience that transcends the boundaries of a traditional concert, offering audiences moments of reflection and inspiration.
