Join Colleen Stevens, Sam’s Point Education Assistant, for a three- mile hike around Loop Road and learn about the History of Sam's Point!

Join Colleen Stevens, Sam’s Point Education Assistant, for an interpretive hike around Loop Road. We’ll hike past the scenic vista at the Sam’s Point Overlook and then make our way around Lake Maratanza. During this three-mile hike, we’ll discuss the hotels that once drew in tourists to Sam’s Point, the Berry Picker camps and the Sam’s Point namesake. This hike will be on Loop Road, which is mostly flat, with some elevation gain at the start of the hike. Please bring snacks, water, and appropriate clothing for the weather. Snowshoes may be rented for this program for a fee of $5 per person. If renting snowshoes, please arrive early. If conditions are icy, participants are encouraged to bring microspikes or other ice traction devices. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Meet at the Sam’s Point Visitor Center.
