What is a gorget? The gorget is a piece of armor or clothing that covered the throat for British and French officers in the 18th Century and Native People as well. At this History is Fun Make and Take event, children 5-10 years old will make their own gorget and learn more about this important item from 18th century material culture.

About the organizer
Braddock's Battlefield History Center is located on the original site of the Battle of the Monongahela, also known as Braddock's Defeat. On July 9, 1755, French and Native American forces defeated British and American troops at the onset of the French and Indian War. The museum's new exhibits interpret the fascinating and consequential history of the Battle that sent shock waves throughout the world.
