About this event

Cruise through the history of Lake Minnetonka's North Shore from the 1850s to today on Wayzata Bay Charter's Her Excellency with historian Joanie Holst. We'll learn about Wayzata's landmark depot, the storied Spirit Knob, Lake Minnetonka's ship graveyard, and the grandeur of Brackett's Point and Ferndale. A cash bar will be available on board.

Weather: Her Excellency goes out rain or shine. If weather is severe, it is at the Captain’s discretion whether we leave the dock or return early as a safety measure.

Boarding Her Excellency: Boarding begins at 5:45 pm and the boat departs promptly at 6:00 pm. Board at the Wayzata Depot Docks, 402 Lake Street East, Wayzata.

Is this event appropriate for those with mobility issues?

Wayzata Bay Charters' vessels conform with all state rules governing accessibility. The accessibility is limited. Typically there is a step up from their pier location to the boat and there are no ramps for wheelchairs.

Is this event appropriate for children?

This is a seated, lecture-type presentation and may not be appropriate for small children as the boat is usually quite full. All passengers must have a ticket and a seat, regardless of age.

Are outside food and beverages available on board "Her Excellency?"

Minnesota State and County Health Laws do not allow for any outside beverages or food to be brought on board. Backpacks and Bags may be checked during boarding.
