Hiking with a Naturalist
Overview
Join Earthroots lead instructor and California Naturalist, Macy Pilkington, for a guided hike through the stunning hills of the Santa Ana Mountains! Explore scenic trails in a small, intimate group, connect with fellow hiking enthusiasts from Orange County, and discover breathtaking new views. The hike will begin at Big Oak Canyon, leading into Cleveland National Forest. Come together to cultivate community and deepen your connection to the natural world. Each hike includes a welcoming circle, a naturalist-led plant walk, and a peaceful quiet sit to reflect and absorb the beauty around you.
Camp Details
WHO: Ages 14 and up
WHEN & WHERE: Sundays | 8:00 am – 11:00 am
November 16, 2025 – Big Oak Canyon – Steep incline for about an hour going up to the vista, then steep downhill back
March 15, 2026 – Harding Canyon – First half mile is steep incline to get into canyon then flat, last half mile back is steep decline
May 17, 2026 – Black Star Canyon – Flat | No restrooms
