Hike and Sing for the Land

Hike and Sing for the Land

By Laura Claire Sera

Overview

Let's honor the land and its original peoples by gathering to sing, reflect, and connect!

Voices of the Heart presents:

A community celebration of gratitude and reverence for this beautiful land and the original peoples who tend to her.

All ages and genders welcome!

We'll enjoy the company of friends new and old as we hike up to visit one of the three remaining old growth redwoods in Pogonip. We'll circle near her and sing joyful songs that restore our connection to our mama earth and to each other. There will be love and laughter! No prior singing experience required, all songs are taught in an easy to follow call-and-repeat style.

Instead of buying things extracted from the earth, let's make Black Friday a day to give back to the earth!

Friday November 28th 10 a.m. — 1 p.m.

10 a.m. Hike together

11:15-12:15 Song Circle

12:15 — Stay after the circle for a picnic, or head off to your next adventure!

Location: Spring Trailhead in Pogonip

2.5 miles roundtrip with moderate elevation on uneven ground

Bring: water, snacks or lunch, and a blanket if you'd like to sit on the ground

This is a Fundraiser for the Amah Mutsun Land Trust

Suggested donation of $10-20 can be made to Laura at the circle by cash, venmo, or paypal.

"Singing with Laura is like a meditation. I leave feeling deeply euphoric, centered, and full of gratitude and connection." — Monica

"Your singing circles are deeply nourishing for my soul, and uplifting for my spirit! I’m able to show up as I am, in raw tenderness or in joy, and find myself held in sisterhood, my voice welcomed and brought to life by the circle of community and care that you create. Thank you from my heart!" — Caraway
