The "High Rye Bourbon Tasting" is a class specifically designed to explain the difference between regular bourbon and High Rye bourbon.

As you may be aware Bourbon is the only distilled spirit that can absolutely no artificial flavoring or coloring added, it must be 100% natural. Most bourbons use three grains; having 51-90% corn, using Rye as the second grain along with Barley Malt as the third grain. Then this High Rye Bourbon Tasting focuses on the minority of bourbons that use 13-24% rye (referred to as a Medium Rye) and bourbons using in excess of 25% rye as the second grain. These "High Ryes" as they're often called, are a bolder, peppery and a more spicy type of bourbon.
