Hey Chicago!

A huge thank you to mindful MATERIALS for collaborating on this event series with us and to HKS for generously hosting us!

Aligned for Action: Accelerating Sustainable Specifications

In collaboration with mindful MATERIALS, this event brings together local industry stakeholders to advance sustainable specifications through the lens of the Common Materials Framework (CMF) - a unifying system developed to simplify and align material sustainability data across the industry.

Together, we’ll explore how recent CMF advancements are supporting more intentional, actionable decisions in product specification—helping designers, manufacturers, contractors, and owners evaluate products consistently across the five impact areas of the AIA Materials Pledge: climate health, human health, ecosystem health, social health and equity, and the circular economy.

This highly interactive session will feature facilitated roundtable and group discussions, inviting participants to share challenges, opportunities, and solutions specific to their local markets. Whether your focus is on policy, firm standards, certifications, or client education, this is a chance to engage in peer learning and cross-disciplinary exchange.

Material Bank's Design You impact, Aligned for Action Series is designed to turn conversation into collaboration - building momentum behind shared goals, streamlining decision-making, and accelerating the shift toward healthier, more sustainable materials across the built environment.

Facilitator - Rebecca. Best, EVP Sustainability; Material Bank, Co-Chair mM A&D Working Group https://www.linkedin.com/in/rebeccaeliebest/
