About this event

Health • Personal health

Join Sara and Brian to learn how to create a practical, safe, and effective herbal first aid kit—perfect for home or travel. In this class we will discuss both topical and internal remedies, each focusing on common health concerns and the herbs that can support them. Topical remedies will cover herbs used externally to treat wounds, burns, bruises, and infections. Internal remedies will focus on herbs taken internally for digestive issues, urinary health, and respiratory support. Finally, we will learn how to assemble a well-balanced herbal first aid kit that’s tailored to your personal needs and environment, clearly labeled and safely stored, and used with an understanding of when to seek professional medical care. Whether you're new to herbalism or looking to deepen your knowledge, this class offers practical guidance to help you feel more confident caring for yourself and others naturally.

Sara Omanovic is a trained Herbalist under her mother, Ema Omanovic. She apprenticed for 4 years and continued her education through ongoing personal research and Naturopathic classes. Sara hopes to further grow Ema's Herbs as an all-encompassing healing center and continues to work with other practitioners to grow her knowledge.

Brian Falk holds a Masters degree in Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz. He also earned a PhD in Depth Psychology with an emphasis in Somatic Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria. Brian’s doctoral research took an interdisciplinary approach to investigate the psychology of aromas. His current interests involve writing and teaching about the intersections of Chinese medicine and Depth Psychology, and how each field can inform the other. Brian maintains a clinical practice in Ventura.
