In today’s world, AI tools are becoming a part of everyday learning—but how do we make sure students use them thoughtfully, ethically, and responsibly? And what role can parents play in supporting those conversations at home?
In this session, Ana Homayoun, founder and academic advisor, and Jesse Park, academic advisor, from Green Ivy Educational Consulting, will explore how we’re guiding students to understand both the possibilities and the pitfalls of AI. They will discuss the importance of recognizing AI’s limits—like bias, inaccuracy, and the temptation to over-rely on it—and how we can encourage students to stay in charge of their own thinking.
Ana and Jesse will also share how educators are bringing transparency into how AI is used in the classroom, so students know when, why, and how it can be a helpful tool. Most importantly, they’ll highlight ways to raise curious, critical thinkers who ask good questions, evaluate what they see, and engage with technology in ways that support—not replace—their own ideas.
Parents will leave with conversation starters, key takeaways, and practical ways to reinforce these skills at home.
Parents/caregivers, students, educators, and community members welcome! Free admission. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available.
