Helping Lost Animals 101: A Free Community Workshop
Overview
Want to make a real difference for animals in Rockaway?
Join us for Helping Lost Animals 101, a hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop hosted by Zion’s Mission and Sasha’s Mission. Whether you’ve walked past a roaming dog, spotted a scared cat under a car, or simply want to know what to do before a situation arises, this workshop will give you the confidence and skills to take action.
You’ll learn how to tell the difference between a stray, abandoned, or lost pet, how to safely approach or contain an animal, and what immediate steps to take to reunite them with their family—or get them the help they need. Professional animal rescuers with 20+ years of experience will guide you through real-world demos, simple tools anyone can use, and the essential safety basics every community member should know.
This is a chance to become part of the solution. Together we can reduce suffering, reconnect families, and strengthen our neighborhood’s role as a compassionate, prepared community.
Free to attend and open to all. Plus: raffle prizes at the end! All registrants receive one free raffle ticket. Additional tickets are available for purchase and proceeds benefit Zion's Mission.
