• Singlestick - Two Divisions. Match is held on a slightly elevated platform or plank/bench. Designed for both FMA and HEMA - Minimal Gear. (Fencing Mask, Protective Gloves)

FMA practitioners: If you have the applicable HEMA Protective equipment, you’ll enjoy the HEMA Saber Divisions; you’ll see many parallels in technique and approach to the majority of FMA traditions. Likewise, the HEMA Sidesword Divisions. However, the difference in weapon design can be especially challenging. Technically, you’ll see parallels with the sword-based expressions of Kalis Ilustrisimo, Latosa Escrima, Visayan Style Corto Kadena, and Lightning Scientific Arnis.

HEMA practitioners: Cutlass/Bolo will present a familiar venue with the additional challenge of minimal hand protection. Singlestick/Plank is meant to recreate a traditional format that was practiced throughout Europe and continues to thrive in the Philippines.
