Description

Responding to a rise in hate incidents during the presidential campaign and since the election, Hollaback! has offered regular bystander intervention training webinars to prepare folks to intervene when they see harassment on the street and in other public spaces. During this time we have also seen an eruption of online harassment of people of color, religious minorities, women, and others – to the point that many have abandoned social media as a public space. In response, we've developed our first bystander intervention training specific to online harassment.

Hollaback! launched HeartMob in early 2016 as a platform to provide support for victims of online abuse and empower volunteers to intervene as bystanders. With this webinar, hosted by experts from the HeartMob team, you'll learn how to be an effective bystander when you witness online harassment. Find out what online harassment looks like, how to respond without escalating, and how to offer real support to targets.

Join the HeartMob team to learn what online harassment looks like, how to properly document it, and how to offer real support to the people being targeted. In the meantime, check out iheartmob.org for more resources and sign up for an account today!
