Join us for a free, family-friendly evening to support Hunger Awareness Month on Thursday, June 12 at 6 PM at Green Road Community Library.


🍽️ Enjoy a Community Picnic
Gather around the joy of food—a light meal is provided.


🌱 Youth-led Action
Organized and hosted by the 4-H Liberation Out Loud (LOL) Club, this event is part of their youth-led effort to raise awareness about hunger and homelessness in Wake County.


💬 Hear from the Women’s Center
The evening will feature brief remarks from a representative of the Women’s Center, offering insight into their work and ways to support local neighbors in need.


🎨 Hands-on Activities
Explore interactive experiences like the community Wish Wall.


🎁 Support (if you can!)
Green Road Library will be accepting donations of New Adult-sized Underwear and Canned Meals (single-serve, ready-to-eat — e.g., ramen or mac & cheese cups, chili, Chef Boyardee, canned meats) throughout the month of June. Bringing a donation to the event is welcome, but not required to attend.


This event is part of Hunger Awareness Month, a partnership between Wake County Cooperative Extension and Libraries.
