The relationship between parents and their adult children can be a source of both deep love and deep pain. Old wounds, unmet expectations, and generational differences often lead to silence, conflict, or distance.

This workshop offers a supportive space for both adult children and parents to explore what gets in the way of connection—and how to move toward understanding and healing. Through the lens of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), we’ll learn practical tools to listen with empathy, speak with honesty, and stay grounded in what truly matters: love, respect, and mutual care.

Whether you're a parent longing to reconnect or an adult child wanting more authenticity and ease, this workshop welcomes you.

Persons of all levels of NVC experience are welcome. The structure of the practice will differ for people with different levels of NVC experience with the intention of all participants feeling comfortable and that their needs are held with care.

Jane is a CNVC Certified trainer and is excited to also share, if desired, some elements of her recent experience sharing NVC in Kenya at the International Intensive Training in December.. She felt moved and inspired by the powerful commitment to embracing NVC she observed among people whose lives include both extreme poverty and extreme violence (personal and institutional).

We are an organization committed to the growth of Nonviolent Communication in the Metro DC and Baltimore area and to creating peace and understanding in the world.

Nonviolent Communication offers a set of tools designed to help foster understanding and compassion both within ourselves and with others. These tools can be used in everyday conversation, in conflict situations, and therapeutically.

We invite you to explore this web-site to learn more about Nonviolent Communication and the work that is going on in this area. If you are new to Nonviolent Communication, we encourage you to explore the pages About NVC. We invite all visitors to sign up for our free monthly newsletter and join us for an upcoming event.
