What is the “Healing for All” Event?
This is a community outreach and awareness sessin hosted by Melabiz Community Hub as part of the Crime Survivors Speak: Access to Victim Compensation initiative. It’s designed to help individuals and families understand and access Arizona’s Victim Compensation Program — a state resource that helps survivors of violent crime cover critical costs related to their healing and recovery.
Who Should Attend?
This event is open to youth, adults, and families who:
- Have experienced or been impacted by violent crime
- Want to understand their rights as victims
- May need help with costs like medical care, therapy, funeral expenses, relocation, or lost wages
- Are supporting survivors in their healing process
- Work in community, education, or justice settings and want to learn how to help others access support
Whether you’re a survivor yourself or care about someone who is — this event is for you.
Why It Matters:
Less than 1 in 10 eligible victims ever apply for the compensation they deserve. That’s often because the process is confusing, the information isn’t widely known, or they don’t feel safe asking for help.
Our goal is to remove the barriers — and ensure that every survivor knows what’s available and how to access it.
